    Why did my photo get smaller in pixels?

    A 12-megapixel phone photo can't fit into 50 KB at a decent quality. The tool reduces it to a size where the face stays clear, typically 500 to 800 pixels wide.

    Is 1 KB 1000 or 1024 bytes?

    Upload forms differ. The result is always below the limit in both counts, with a small margin, so it passes either way.
