Compress an image to 20 KB

Exam and recruitment forms often want the signature, and sometimes the photo, under 20 KB. A phone photo is 100 to 200 times bigger than that. Drop it here: the tool shrinks the picture to a sensible size and finds the highest quality that still fits under 20 KB, so the signature stays readable. Crop the photo to just the signature first for the sharpest result.

    My signature looks blurry. What can I do?

    Crop the photo tightly around the signature before you drop it, on dark ink and white paper. Fewer pixels to store means more quality at 20 KB.

    The form also asks for a minimum size, like 10 KB. Is that a problem?

    The result is usually just under the limit, so it stays above typical minimums. If it comes out too small, raise the limit a little.
